Elder Wilkinson directed the spiritual activities, Esta Slauter was the cook with assistant Louise Rowe. Don Hepburn aided Elder Wilkinson in class--he led singing and kept the kids in line while the Elder talked. Ruth Charles played the piano, Oliver Rowe led the ball games with all the guys helping. Don Hepburn led calisthenics.
This endeavor was totally new to everyone involved but a routine soon developed and the different ones found their area of expertise and dived in to help. It was thrilling to see the response of the kids to the music and spiritual lessons.
